Buffing wheels are designed to perform two important functions in the metal polishing process:-
(1) to carry the abrasive buffing compound across the work surface to produce a cutting and colouring action
(2) where required, to generate sufficient heat to permit burnishing the work surface

Full disc sewn buffing wheels are the traditional and most generally used buff.  Made with circular die cut layers of cloth sheeting, assembled and held together by various patterns of sewing that are added to influence the hardness, flexibility, resiliency and compound holding ability.  The white cotton is ideally suited for light cutting, coloring and finishing.
